Kenyan champions Gor Mahia FC look set to beat other Kenyan Premier League clubs in the race to sign Western Stima and Kisumu Day striker Benson Ochieng’ Omalla.
The Kenya Under 20 international has been widely backed to move to Gor Mahia this after reportedly holding talks with Kenyan Champions. Speaking exclusively to Sports Review Kisumu, Stima chairman Mr. Laban Jobita revealed that Gor Mahia have shown interest in the youngster and they are discussing a way forward.
”I Can never hold onto players and at Stima we have a history of releasing our best players if they want to leave. Contact has been made and we are on the negotiating table,” says the chairman who has in the past released such players as Kenneth Muguna, Bernard Ondiek, Joash Onyango to Gor Mahia just to name a few.
The forward has been prolific for school, club, and country scoring 8 goals in 11 appearances for Western Stima. His hat-trick against Zoo FC and his debut goal against Kenya Commercial Bank are his highlights of the season.
