Kisumu All Stars were once again on the end of a beating in the Kenyan Premier League, this time- from Ulinzi Stars who hosted them at the Afraha Stadium on Sunday 23rd February.
All Stars, despite scoring twice in the match, could not fully match the military men who have now completed a double over the Kisumu side with the 3-2 victory.
It only took 6 minutes for Masita Masuta to send the hosts up in the tie. Before All Stars could find a response, Bernard Ongoma made it 2-0 for Ulinzi Stars on 30 minutes. Gerrishom Arabe would pull one back for the visitors with a 48th-minute penalty kick, and Michael Owino for 2-2 ten minutes later. The boys from Kisumu had seemingly found their groove.
This was however, not to be as Ulinzi would reclaim their lead with Masita finding his brace in the tie. Scored in the 69th minute, Masita’s second goal would be the decider in a match that now means All Stars have lost in 11 successive matches.
Kisumu Hot Stars meanwhile, were 2-0 winners over FKF Div One league leaders Soy United. Boasting a brilliant home run, Coach Hezzy Obungu’s charges took down the Kakamega County side on Sunday to scale up higher in the very competitive Div One league.
