Kisumu All Stars have finally broken their Kenya Premier League duck with a 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks FC after 8 attempts.
Henry Omino’s side won the Saturday contest staged at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu in front of a packed home crowd to boost their morale of surviving in Kenya’s top-flight league.
After a barren first half, the home side wrung changes to the squad and this worked to their advantage, their new forward line launching attack after attack at the visitors.
Everything looked pointed towards a draw but a late lapse in concentration in the Sharks defense saw them concede an own goal.
The win takes All Stars to 6 points and they move into third from bottom, just one point behind Kariobangi Sharks.
In the midweek, Western Stima dispatched Bandari FC to maintain their unbeaten streak in the league.
