Weekend Review: Warriors spank Wazalendo, Lakeside in narrow defeat as Hot Stars thrash Muhoroni

Butali Sugar Warriors were 4-0 winners over Sailors in their Sunday 27th Premier League clash staged at the City Park Hockey Stadium in Nairobi.

The Warriors, who occupy the summit of the PL table standings- have now stretched their lead to seven points between them and second place Wazalendo Masters.

In Basketball, Kisumu Lakeside narrowly fell by a single basket to Ulinzi Warriors in the first leg of their 2019 KBF Premier League playoffs, a match played at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground on Saturday 26th.

Lakeside, who recently qualified for the playoffs 8-team playoffs, lost 80-78 to the visitors and will have everything to do when they travel to Nairobi for the return leg scheduled for November 2nd.

Football had Kisumu All Stars active in the Kenyan Premier League where they traveled to Awendo and managed a 1-1 draw against SoNy Sugar FC. Gerrishom Arabe struck the equalizer for the Kisumu side after the hosts had gone up through John Mwita.

In the Div One, Kisumu Hot Stars were again in top form, dispatching Muhoroni Youth 3-1 to continue their perfect home start to the season. Gordon Okeya, Charles Adika and Mohammed Mbaruk were responsible for the goals.
