Former Kisumu City FC midfielder Tom Adwar will leave the country on July 10th to commence his studies at the Murray State College- US for a 4 year Degree Course.
Adwar- a well-traveled footballer in the local scene, joins the growing list of sportsmen and women who have balanced school and sports- ultimately excelling in both.
In an interview with Sports Review Kisumu, the Tusker FC midfielder revealed of his persistent effort to earn the football scholarships, in the process, showing just how difficult it is to secure one.
”I’ve followed this one for two years now, that is after the first attempt failed. I did not give up because the first time I failed, it was very marginal and it showed me that I was almost there,” he says.
Adwar will pursue a degree in accounting at the Murray College and says to get a chance to do two things one loves is a dream come true.
”These are two things close to my heart, so I’m happy that I will play football and study at the same time. Here in Kenya, that can be a little demanding,” adds the former Sofapaka FC anchorman.
Adwar- a Kisumu bred lanky midfielder, has played for Kisumu City FC, Muhoroni Youth, Palos, Agro Chemical, Kisumu Hot Stars, Nakumatt, Kakamega Homeboyz and more recently Tusker FC.
