Chemelil Sugar survive relegation as Western Stima finish 13th

Chemelil Sugar FC are safe from the claws of relegation after a 1-0 win over Sony Sugar FC in a final day match played at the Chemelil sports complex.

The lone goal was scored by Philip Muchuma which means Chemelil- who headed into the final day placed third from bottom, will now finish 14th hence avoid the relegation playoff match. In their place drops Posta Rangers.

Western Stima drew 0-0 with AFC Leopards

In the city, Western Stima have amassed a total of 39 points in 34 matches in the just concluded Kenyan Premier League season, this after forcing a 0-0 draw against AFC Leopards today at the Moi stadium.

Stima, who for a better part of the campaign battled relegation worries, won away last week to Vihiga United and with the weekend result easing their relegation worries, entered the final day needing only a respectable finish to the campaign.

The Powermen end the season with 8 wins and 15 draws. They have tasted defeat eleven times.
