It was not the best of outings for Kisumu based clubs as they registered dismal performances in there various fixtures.
Kenya Women Premier League
The Kenya Women Premier league season 2019 kicked off last weekend with Kisumu all-starlets falling to visitors Trans Nzoia Falcons by 3 goals to 1, the home side were the better side in the first 15 minutes and found themselves fading off in the last quarter of the game and the entire second half of the game.
Cynthia Adhiambo restored parity for the home girls after Falcons striker Joan Wanjala had scored earlier to give her side the lead, the visitors come guns blazing in the last 45 minutes and placed two past Grace Tambo in goal for Kisumu All-starlets.
National Division One Zone B
A Goal a piece from Steve Otieno and Charlse Adika registered Kisumu Hotstars FC first away win of the season with a 2-0 win over St Joseph Youth. Hotstars who started the league on a wrong footing have rediscovered their scoring touch and are currently out of the relegation zone.
Kenya Premier League
Western Stima and Chemelil Sugar failed to register wins in their weekend duties as they both dropped points. Chemelil Sugar lost 2-0 to Kariobangi sharks while Western Stima’s Herbert Kopany secured a draw with a wonderful volley to draw level with visitors Vihiga United who saw themselves leading the proceedings through their captain of the day Amos Kigadi.
Stima will be facing Mathare united without their dependable center back Maurice Ojwang who was red carded for fouling John Vincent Wonder.
National Super League
Kisumu All-Stars suffered their second loss of the season to school boys Green Commandos in a match staged at Bukhugu Stadium and saw them drop points, the home side were the first to score and added the second one in the second half, a late goals from Eric Otieno wasn’t enough for Kisumu all-stars as the damage was already done. Kisumu all-stars will be playing her last match of the first leg against Thika United at Moi Stadium Kisumu this weekend.
