Kisumu Hot Stars acting head coach Hezzy Obungu praised his team performance after registering a win against Muhoroni Youth over the weekend. The car wash based side emerged 1-0 winners in a tough game played at Moi Stadium Kisumu, the lone goal was scored by Muhamed Mbaruk after he connected a well executed cross from youngster Robert Muyela in the 73rd minute of the game.
Coach Hezzy took plenty of positives from the game, however, and reserved special praise for young turks Issac Mayamba ,Robert Muyela and Ibrahim Ochieng who played in the defence and midfield respectively.
“In some minutes we started good and after we had a few problems. We missed the ball in some situations and they used the counter-attack, but my players were up to the task and controlled the proceedings” the coach said.
“Robert Muyela is a good center back but played right-back today for the first time. He won all the duels against his man and all these players. He did it really well.
“I saw many, many good things that we can build our playing philosophy on, we want to breathe a fresh start and reclaim our position in the league” concluded the coach as he spoke to Sports Review Kisumu.
Hot Stars who found themselves at unfamiliar position in the league at the beginning of the season are now scaling up the ladder as they seek to evade relegation, they will next face Nakuru based St. Joseph Youth in Afraha Stadium next weekend
