Kisumu All Starlets bounced back from their recent 2-1 defeat to Vihiga Queens to whip visiting Oserian Ladies FC 3-1 at the Moi Stadium on Saturday 27, a match played from 1 pm.
Starlets had been a 3 match winning streak since the league resumed before falling to 2018 league champions Vihiga Queens and today’s result means Juma Saidi’s girls mean business in the second leg.
In the match, Bertha Omita was on target and with that, she breaks the club’s goal scoring record. With only four matches played for the striker, she now has nine goals which surpass Emmalyne Adhiambo’s former tally of seven from the 2017 campaign.
Despite the visitors starting on a high, it was Starlets who would score the first goal with an owngoal coming their way. More dominance from Starlets resulted in a penalty which Merceline Wayodi converted. Oserian pulled one back for a 2-1 scoreline but Omita woud come to haunt them with a thunderbolt to make it 3-1.
Omita herself, is a former Oserian Ladies FC player.
